Looking to 2008
Despite my protestations that 2007 would be my final year in WSAPWB, I was cajoled and strong-armed (and bribed with Starbucks coffee) into serving one more year serving on the Board, this time as President.
I will admit that, for the most part, the last two seasons serving on the Board have been a fun and rewarding experience. Yes, there may have been a few moments of angst and tribulation along the way, but those are mitigated by getting to serve with a great bunch of people and working towards the common goal of making West Seattle Pee Wee a better league for the kids of West Seattle. I believe that we've made significant progress towards that end. And there is still a lot of work left to be done.
One of the biggest hurdles we face is a very common one for any organization run solely by volunteers, and that would be involvement by the members in the operation of the league. Frankly, we need more parents to step up and volunteer for some of the lesser but still very important tasks to keep the league operating. There is a long list of those positions and tasks listed on the Contacts Page. I would ask that you take a look at that list and see if there is something that you could do to help out your League.
Let's all have a great season of baseball in 2008!
